You Surreptitiously Care For Me

You Surreptitiously Care For Me

Danielle Jackson

My words are nebulous to you,
so you submerge your head in my earthly ways
in hope you will be able to decipher
why I react to falling leaves and the tremors
underneath us, as if it the first time
I felt the earth shake and the weakness in my knees,
and the last time I will catch and crumple
the red and orange in my hands.
You look at me struggling with motivation,
standing still and then dancing anxiously
from one foot to another, you sit back
and watch me solemnly,
because you can not tell me to stop
when you don’t know what I am doing.
